Fantastic 4

Twentieth Century Fox presents a film directed by Tim Story. Written by Michael France, Mark Frost and Simon Kimberg, based on the comic book and characters by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. Running time: 105 minutes. Rated PG-13 (for sequences of intense action and some suggestive content).

You’re not going to believe the following, but this movie was pretty fucking good. It’s a comic book movie that actually doesn’t bog itself down with self righteous and boring dramas. It’s funny and quickly paced and forgive me for saying this, but damn it, well written.

So often I see a superhero movie, I’m talking to you X-Men, where you have all these people with all these abilities and nobody’s doing anything fantastic. The Fantastic 4 are all about their new abilities, with exception of the Thing, who’s just a little depressed because his wife is less than impressed with his new found ability to stay hard all the time.

Another thing this movie deserves points for is for exploiting one of the surest way at getting a laugh, putting two ex-lovers in the same room together. In any movie you ever see with two characters, who used to sleep together, you will find some of the more funny exchanges of dialogue to be found in the movies.

And any movie that finds an excuse to have Jessica Alba remove her clothes in broad daylight has got to be given a little more than just a chance.

“Why are you such a bitch?”
